U.S. State Boards of Nursing Licensure Application
All nurses who wish to practice in the United States must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). This is a computerized, multiple choice examination designed to test knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to the safe and effective practice of nursing.
In order to be eligible to sit the NCLEX exam, you must submit a licensure application through one of the U.S. state boards of nursing. The State Board of Nursing will perform a comparative education assessment to ensure that your nurse education meets the standards of nurse education in the United States. To do so, they will require your school of nursing to forward a copy of your transcript and a course description outlining the syllabus or curriculum of your nurse education studies. Upon approval, you will become eligible to take the NCLEX-RN and will receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) at a Pearson Vue location of your choice.
Assignment America will provide you with an application form for RN licensure and help you complete and submit the licensure application.
